Fun Indoor Activities With Your Canine 🐶

Here are some fun inside-the-house games you can do to keep your dog active and stimulated during the "dog days" of summer. These games will also assist in reinforcing the training you have done with your dog.

Find it!- This game involves hiding tiny bits of a treat throughout the house. Your dog will need to use his/her nose to seek them out. Start with putting a treat next to your dog and say, “find it!” to teach that the phrase means “go get the treat.” Gradually move the treat farther away and increase the difficulty. Increase the difficulty gradually as you spread the treats throughout the room or even the whole house.

Agility- Grab a broom and use it for jumps. Use an ottoman or a dog bed for a table. Weave your dog around furniture. Make your own homemade course.

Hide and Seek- Hide somewhere in your home, then call your dog to you. Reward your dog with a tasty treat. This game assists with reinforcing recall and is lots of fun. This could be a game the kids can play with their canine companion.

Food Puzzle Toys- Anyone who knows us, knows that we almost always encourage pet parents to feed their Canine Companions with food puzzle toys. It is a simple way to enrich your dog every day with every meal. Encourage your dog to play with their food.

The time you spend with your dog will reap plenty of rewards as you reinforce positive behaviors while keeping them stimulated and physically active. You’ll have a happier, more well-behaved canine companion as a result.

Oooooo, that feels sooooo gooooood.
